Snow White and the Huntsman Dwarfs Box Office Foes with Big Opening Weekend

Snow White and the Huntsman is projected to earn an estimated $55 million in its opening weekend, trouncing previous box office #1 Men In Black 3.

The action-packed fairy tale re-imagining, starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, parlayed strong midnight screenings into a $21 million Friday, and it's currently cruising toward an easy overall victory.

Men In Black 3 should remain a strong #2 with approximately $29 million in box office receipts, crossing the $100 million mark overall.

In its fifth week, The Avengers is still popular enough for third place, and will add $19 million or so to its enormous cumulative domestic earnings, which have already crossed the half-billion dollar mark.

The chart takes a big drop after the Top 3.

A quartet of holdovers ' The Dictator, Battleship, What to Expect When You're Expecting and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel ' are all expected to fall into the $4.5-5 million range.

Johnny Depp vampire flick Dark Shadows is tracking toward $3.5 million, giving it the #8 spot.

After that, it's nuclear fallout horror movie Chernobyl Diaries ($2.8 million) at #9 and The Hunger Games ($2 million) ' approaching the $400 million overall mark ' in the #10 spot.

  I saw it yesterday with some friends and plan on seeing it again on Sunday with Hubby. The theater was PACKED! Whoever said that guys don't like Kristen Stewart is an idiot. There were tons of guys without any chicks at my theater :)

• Can't wait to see what the foreign box office will be for SWATH. It will definetely pass the $100,000,000 mark total domestic & foreign this weekend. At the very least.

  Men in Black III made just under $55,000,000 so SWATH should be able to beat that easily.

Andy Samberg: I'm Leaving SNL

Andy Samberg is leaving 'Saturday Night Live.'

The comedian confirmed his exit, which had been speculated about for months, in an interview with The New York Times late Friday.

'Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back,' he told the paper.

Noting that this is an 'incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,' Samberg went on to explain that his contract with the NBC series was up and he felt ready to move on to something new.

His 'SNL' co-star Kristen Wiig, who received an emotional send-off on last month's season finale, 'kept saying it just feels like it's her time,' and he admitted to feeling similarly.

'I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it's the moment,' Samberg told the Times.

In his nearly seven years on the show, Samberg said he 'did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do,' including a follow-up to his wildly successful 'Lazy Sunday' sketch.

And though leaving is 'one of the hardest decisions I've ever made,' the That's My Boy star said he would definitely be open to guest appearances in the future.

'That's the kind of thing that I really do hope happens,' he told the paper.

'Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie have made a lunch date to bury the hatchet once and for all,' announces the National Enquirer.

The tabloid says the 'longtime archenemies' made the plans after Aniston supposedly 'sent flowers to Angie' to congratulate Jolie on her engagement to Aniston's ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

According to the magazine, 'the gesture prompted Angie to call Jennifer to thank her, which led to an invitation to lunch in London late this summer.'

Of course, the Enquirer says this is not really about friendship and good intentions, instead speculating that Jolie and Aniston's (supposed) luncheon 'may turn into the cat fight of the century!'

'Jen and Angelina have hated each other for years, and they've each thought long and hard about what they'd say if they ever got face to face,' explains a so-called Aniston 'friend.'

The source continues, 'Angelina will be going on the attack about Jen always playing the victim ' and Jen is going to blast back at Angie for being Hollywood's greatest husband stealer.'

Wait, so Jolie and Aniston are supposedly meeting for lunch' just to fight?

That's what the Enquirer seems to think, even adding that Pitt is 'said to be 'freaking out' over the upcoming confrontation.'

'He envisions the two women pulling hair and punching at each other over the bad blood they've harbored for years,' an 'insider' tells the tabloid.

Seriously?

The Enquirer wants us to believe that Aniston sent flowers to Jolie as a ruse to get the two women together for a lunch bloodbath in which Jolie and Aniston viciously unload on each other?

Here's the truth: Neither Jolie nor Aniston cares nearly, nearly as much about this supposed feud as the Enquirer does, with its endless hysterical coverage of 'bad blood' between the two stars, reporting that twists reality and often sounds like a joke.

Sources close to both parties tell Gossip Cop there are NO plans whatsoever for a Jolie-Aniston lunch date.

Now, when the meeting it fabricated never happens, the Enquirer will pretend it was canceled because of the feud it spends every week exaggerating.

It's a clever trick for perpetuating a tabloid saga, but it's 100% false.

Diddy's Son Justin Combs Responds to Football Scholarship Controversy

Justin Combs has taken to Twitter to address the controversy regarding his football scholarship to UCLA.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, critics have complained that Combs, son of music mogul Diddy, doesn't need or deserve a $54,000 scholarship given his father's $475 million fortune.

Combs, however, sees things a bit differently.

'Regardless what the circumstances are, I put that work in!!!! PERIOD,' the 18-year-old defensive back tweeted.

Combs continued, 'Regardless of what you do in life every1 is gonna have their own opinion. Stay focused, keep that tunnel vision & never 4get why u started.'

While Diddy has remained mum on the controversy, Combs' mom Misa Hylton has also weighed in via Twitter, saying, 'My Son is his own man. He will earn his own way through life.'

Hylton went on to stress that Combs is receiving a merit-based scholarship that won't have any effect on need-based aid packages for other students,

'You want to penalize my son for working hard and putting education first? Shame on you,' she wrote, adding, 'He deserves to be rewarded.'

'Lindsay Lohan is ready for love again ' with photographer Gavin Doyle,' begins a piece by X17Online.

According to the site, Doyle accompanied Lohan to a photo shoot on Wednesday, and then the actress 'retreated to her favorite hotel for some down time with her new boyfriend.'

X17Online adds that the pair has been seen 'spending lots of time together the past couple months' at public events like Coachella.

The webloid then quotes a completely fabricated 'source' as saying the supposed couple has 'been doing everything they can to keep their relationship on the down-low.'

So, they've been 'getting cozy' in public' but are trying to keep the 'relationship' quiet?

X17Online's made-up 'source' explains, 'Lindsay wants to protect this relationship because she feels the media helped break up her and Samantha [Ronson], and she's really hoping this time things work out.'

Brian McKnight, the critically acclaimed R&B singer and instrumentalist, made waves in April when, out of nowhere, the previously wholesome crooner released an absolutely filthy ditty called 'If You're Ready to Learn.'

The song was about 'p**sy.'

Well, McKnight is back with a new dirty track that's at least partly about another intimate body part!

His new X-rated song is a thank-you tribute to YouPorn.com, which apparently helped spread 'If You're Ready to Learn' earlier this spring.

The 'YouPorn Anthem' track has been pulled from YouTube, but in the clip below (via TMZ), McKnight can be heard singing romantically, 'You wanna see some f***ing anal, I can get you close enough to smell.'

Should Diddy's Son Justin Combs Give Back His Football Scholarship?

There's a controversy surrounding the full athletic scholarship awarded to Diddy's son Justin Combs, by UCLA.

Some are questioning whether it's right that the 18-year-old defensive back, who in November announced he would play Division 1 football at the university, be given a $54,000 scholarship, considering his father's $475 million fortune.

A number of California tax payers are reportedly even calling for Combs to return the scholarship so that it can be awarded to students who are in need of financial aid.

However, UCLA spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez says that the money used for merit-based athletic scholarships (Combs earned a 3.75 high school G.P.A.) is 'entirely funded by Athletic Department ticket sales, corporate partnerships, media contracts and private donations' and 'do not rely on state funds.'

Vazquez states that Combs' scholarship has nothing to do with funds given to need-based students.

He explains, 'Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability, and not on a student's financial need.'
