Brave Shoots Down Abraham Lincoln, Will Capture #1 Spot at Weekend Box Office

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Brave

BOX OFFICE

(Pixar)

Pixar has yet another #1 hit.

Brave, the animation company's first movie featuring a female lead character, will top this weekend's box office with approximately $65 million, according to estimates.

The Scottish adventure is set to be Pixar's 13th consecutive first-place opener.

Another animated feature, Madagascar 3, should perform well enough in its third weekend to capture the #2 spot, ahead of the new release Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which will likely fall short of the $20 million mark in its debut.

Holdovers filling out the chart will include sci-fi thinker Prometheus, 1980s hair metal musical Rock of Ages and fairy tale action flick Snow White and the Huntsman.

Meanwhile, The Avengers could come close to breaking the $600 million overall mark by the end of the weekend.

Gossip Cop will have updates when numbers become official.

  • The cartoon is wonderful, it has many funny moments, I like it a lot. But. It seems for me, that recently all the cartoon princess are painted from Kristen Stewart.

  • I'm glad Abraham Lincoln is not going to do well. I went to WonderCon and the people on the panel were disrespectful and rude. I'd planned to see the movie but not after that.

  • a number 1 doesn't mean anything take into consideration the average price of a movie ticket is nearly 8 bucks while in 1972 for example the average ticket price was 1.70 and 25.2 million people saw cabaret for a total of nearly 43 million at the box office while if that many people saw brave it would make nearly 200,000,000. and Cabaret also won 8 of the ten oscars it was nominated for brave won't get half those nominations annimated films never do. in the best picture catagory for instance you have to go back 20 years to find the last Disney movie nominated and it was Beauty & The Beast
