'Suri Cruise is just six and has never made a movie, but she apparently already has the kind of accessory reserved for [the] biggest stars ' a body double,' begins a ridiculous piece from the New York Daily News.
According to the paper, a look-alike has been hired for the child because her dad Tom Cruise is 'obsessed' with security.
The outlet says it 'spotted Suri's alleged double as recently as Friday afternoon,' after Katie Holmes 'picked her up from her Manhattan school and they returned to their Chelsea home.'
However, the Daily News notes that on the way home, their car 'made an unexpected stop at a police precinct ' and out popped the doppelganger.'
'She wore the same purple, puffy down-filled coat as Suri. She had the same black leggings and Ugg-type tan boots with pink soles as Suri. And while she tried to hide her face, her auburn hair was long and brown like Suri's. Only she wasn't Suri,' writes the paper in a tone echoing a mystery novel.
The publication adds that 'the real Suri arrived with her nanny minutes later in another black SUV.'
Ooh!
The whole elaborate conspiracy was supposedly crafted by Cruise, whom the outlet says has a 'mania' for security.
A so-called Holmes 'source' tells the paper, 'Tom wants the names of all the parents of the kids Suri plays with,' alleging, 'He has to approve them before Suri can go to their houses or apartments alone. He has them investigated and he keeps a file on everyone.'
The Daily News goes on to draw a loose comparison between six-year-old Suri and 'Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Saddam Hussein who have relied on stand-ins.'
Wow.
Does the paper honestly not realize how ABSURD this sounds?
Suri is a child.
Sometimes, little girls find it fun to dress like their friends.
That's all that is going on here.
A source close to Holmes laughed off the crazy report to Gossip Cop, telling us the child is simply a 'friend' of Suri's, and adding that the paper ought to put its time to better use than constructing conspiracy theories involving kids.
