The Possession Takes Over Box Office

The Possession

BOX OFFICE

(Lionsgate)

Horror flick The Possession is on pace to top a slow box office weekend.

The movie is tracking toward about $9 million, good enough to beat Bradley Cooper's new drama The Words ($5.5 million) and the Shia LaBeouf-Tom Hardy bootlegger film Lawless ($5.2 million).

Action star extravaganza The Expendables 2 is expected to be #4 with approximately $4.5 million, followed by the animated ParaNorman ($4.2 million).

The Odd Life of Timothy Green ($3.8 million) and The Bourne Legacy ($3.8 million) will duel for 6th place.

After that, it's a close grouping of The Dark Knight Rises, The Campaign and 2016: Obama's America, all of which are projected to be around $3 million.

Gossip Cop will have updates.
