BOX OFFICE(Open Road)
(Warner Bros.)
A trio of new releases are in a tight battle for #1 at the box office this weekend.
Jake Gyllenhaal's police drama End of Watch and Clint Eastwood's baseball flick Trouble with the Curve are both tracking toward roughly $13.5 million openings, with Jennifer Lawrence's thriller House at the End of the Street just slightly behind, on a $12.5 million pace.
It should come down to the wire on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Finding Nemo re-release in 3D will likely finish in fourth place at approximately $8 million.
Two shoot-em-ups, the new Dredd 3D and holdover Resident Evil: Retribution, are neck and neck for the #5 spot, with both movies on pace for $5.5 million.
The Master, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman, should be in seventh place (despite limited release), ahead of The Possession ($2.7 million) and Lawless ($2.3 million).
The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner, is expected to earn roughly $1.5 million to wrap up the Top 10.
