Johnny Depp is the victim of a death hoax.
The sick rumor apparently began with a bogus 'R.I.P. Johnny Depp' memorial page on Facebook, and was fueled in part by the actual recent death of a crew member working on The Lone Ranger, which stars Depp.
Depp is NOT dead.
The rumors are 100% false.
Unfortunately, phony death rumors have become all too frequent in recent months, spread quickly on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms.
Depp himself was the victim of an earlier hoax in which he allegedly died in a car crash.
Gossip Cop has said it before and we'll say it again: It's time for these awful 'jokes' to die out.
