Wreck-It Ralph Destroying Competition at Box Office

Argo Flight Taken 2 The Man with the Iron Fists Wreck-It Ralph

Wreck-It Ralph is king of the box office.

The animated new release about the trials and tribulations of being a video game villain is expected to win the weekend with approximately $50 million, beating the debuts of Denzel Washington's drama Flight ($23 million) and the martial arts extravaganza The Man with the Iron Fists ($9 million).

Ben Affleck's political thriller Argo should follow with $8.5 million, followed by Taken 2 in the #5 spot at $5.5 million.

Hotel Transylvania ($5 million) should eke ahead of Cloud Atlas and Paranormal Activity 4, both of which are expected to hit the $4.5 million mark.

The Kevin James comedy Here Comes The Boom is projected to finish in ninth place with $3.3 million, with Silent Hill: Revelation rounding out the Top 10 at $3.1 million.

  • movies only make so much at the box office nowadays because of ticket prices though Cat On A Hot Tin Roof made a killing at the box office in 1958 when the average full price ticket was $0.51 as in 17.5 million which means more than 34 million people saw it while if it were re released in theaters next year for it's emerald anniversary it would net nearly 300,000,000
