Should Diddy's Son Justin Combs Give Back His Football Scholarship?

There's a controversy surrounding the full athletic scholarship awarded to Diddy's son Justin Combs, by UCLA.

Some are questioning whether it's right that the 18-year-old defensive back, who in November announced he would play Division 1 football at the university, be given a $54,000 scholarship, considering his father's $475 million fortune.

A number of California tax payers are reportedly even calling for Combs to return the scholarship so that it can be awarded to students who are in need of financial aid.

However, UCLA spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez says that the money used for merit-based athletic scholarships (Combs earned a 3.75 high school G.P.A.) is 'entirely funded by Athletic Department ticket sales, corporate partnerships, media contracts and private donations' and 'do not rely on state funds.'

Vazquez states that Combs' scholarship has nothing to do with funds given to need-based students.

He explains, 'Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability, and not on a student's financial need.'

'Nicki Minaj's Backup Dancer Arrested As Suspect In Murder Case!' blares a headline from Perez Hilton.

According to the blogger, one of 'Minaj's backup dancers has been arrested on suspicion of rape AND murder!!!'

Perez then recounts the horrific story about how a 21-year-old Irish student named Nicola Furlong, who attended a Minaj concert in Tokyo last week, was 'found dead the next morning.'

As he reports, Furlong had gone with a girlfriend to 'backup dancer James Blackston and musician Larry Perry's hotel rooms after the show, when things took a turn for the worst.'

Perez then notes Furlong was 'found strangled to death in the hotel room,' while her friend survived the alleged sexual attacks, and that Blackston and his buddy 'are currently in custody.'

While sadly it is true that Furlong was killed after the concert, no one in Minaj's camp was actually responsible.

The rapper took to Twitter on Thursday to blast Perez and set the record straight.

Minaj first expressed her condolences: 'Saddened to learn one of my precious fans; found tragically murdered in Japan. My love & prayers are with the family of Nicola Furlong.'

She then tweeted to Perez that 'my dancers had nothing to do w/this tragedy. No one in my entourage was questioned or arrested. They all flew home from Japan.'

'That person on your sight (sic) is NOT my dancer. We do NOT know the men in custody. Too much misleading information,' she added.

Dozens of Justin Bieber Fans Hurt in Norway Concert Chaos (VIDEO)

Dozens of teenage girls were injured in the pandemonium surrounding Justin Bieber's free concert in Oslo, Norway on Wednesday.

According to local reports, at least 14 young fans were taken by ambulance to the hospital, and a Red Cross source says 88 people received medical treatment overall.

The previously unannounced concert drew mobs of teenagers to the area around Oslo's Opera House, triggering stampedes, blocking traffic and causing a public safety nightmare for organizers and law enforcement officials.

In response to security concerns in the hours before he appeared on stage, The Biebs pleaded for safety on Twitter.

The singer urged fans to 'listen to the police' and stressed, 'I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first.'

Oslo's mayor, Fabian Stang, was caught up in the chaos himself, reportedly forced to run behind a tree to avoid being trampled in the street.

Stang criticized organizers for allowing the situation to become unmanageable, and other local officials have reportedly called for an investigation.

The band talked about how they've been the only British band to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts ' a feat not even accomplished by The Beatles or The Rolling Stones.

They also discussed how they can't dance, but have no problem with being called a 'boy band.'

Other subjects touched upon included how the band deals with its tremendous fame, who the biggest ladies man is, who has a girlfriend, who the most romantic is, and their upcoming new album.

Justin Bieber Pleads for Safety in First Appearance Since Alleged Altercation

In his first public appearance since Sunday's alleged altercation with a paparazzo, Justin Bieber is pleading with fans in Norway for safety.

On Wednesday, the performer took to Twitter to announce a free concert in Oslo ' on the condition that fans 'please listen to the police.'

'I dont want anyone getting hurt,' Bieber wrote, adding, 'I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first.'

The 'Die in Your Arms' singer, who said the show will be a part of his upcoming 'Around the World' TV special, went on to explain that 'for the show to happen u must all listen to the police.'

He added, 'We are all concerned for your safety and i want what is best for u. please listen and tonight we will have some fun.'

As Gossip Cop previously reported, the police are turning Bieber's alleged battery case over to prosecutors, which is standard procedure, though doesn't necessarily mean any action will be taken against the singer.

Jessica Biel opens up for the first time about her upcoming marriage to Justin Timberlake in an interview with French magazine Gala.

The New Year's Eve star says, 'I don't think our marriage will change anything,' but admits, 'It will be a challenge finding a balance between my private life, family and work, and I'm ready.'

Biel also tells the mag she doesn't necessarily feel the need to have a child immediately after she and Timberlake tie the knot.

The actress reveals, 'For me, getting married doesn't mean we should limit ourselves to some predefined idea. Rather, it's an opportunity to explore new things in life.'

As for what qualities she most admires in her husband-to-be, Biel offers, 'The ability to communicate well' to be able to express his feelings. Then, loyalty. And, finally, honesty.'

On Saturday, Biel and Timberlake celebrated their engagement with a big bash in L.A. with guests such as Ellen DeGeneres, Portia DeRossi, Timbaland, and Amy Adams.

The couple got engaged last December.
