Ryan Lochte 'is hoping his gold medal fame will translate to a golden career as a comedic actor,' and has even scored himself an A-list 'Hollywood mentor' in Will Ferrell, reports Star.
Seriously?
A so-called 'source' for the tab says, 'After Ryan filmed sketches for Funny Or Die, Will took him under his wing.'
The supposed 'insider' goes on to claim that Lochte 'wants to star in the next Anchorman or something like The Hangover.'
And though Ferrell has allegedly 'cautioned him against overexposure,' Lochte is 'lobbying Will hard to cast him in his next movie,' says Star.

'He's an attention whore,' the mag's 'source' says of the Olympic swimmer, adding, 'he may as well cash in on it' and 'be the next King of Comedy.'
To recap: Star claims Will Ferrell is now 'mentoring' Ryan Lochte, and the only piece of advice the tabloid can 'report' the comedian shared is to' do nothing.
Maybe Star should follow that advice.
Regardless, a source close to Ferrell assures Gossip Cop that he is NOT, formally or informally, serving as Lochte's 'Hollywood mentor,' and adds that the story is 'absurd.'
